It's fantastic to see that it was recovered and appears to have been recovered intact.

DDDenny nailed it on how these breakins and thefts get started a lot of the time. It isn't the guy who hangs out around your shop it is the guys who hear him running off at the mouth bragging about what "his buddy" has tucked away. There are too many around now who just listen for stuff like that.

    Happy the car was recovered.

Too bad this isn’t the result every time this happens. I hope that special place in hell for thieves is just a little hotter than the rest of it.

  13. That’s great news !!!

one of the techs I work with had his van stolen a couple weeks ago from a job site .

We do all our work orders etc on iPads my boss did the find my iPad and the truck was parked at a Home Depot around the corner from him

he drove there , saw the van called the cops and 2 of the dirt bags where still in the van , they also arrested 2 Home Depot employees.

tge funny part is there where extra tools and building equipment in the van the crooks would not fess up to stealing !!

so a kinda win win lol

I am glad you got your car back. That is just the start. I hope the Law throws the book at the a-holes that are responsible. I HATE THIEVES and LIARES and people that are flat out DISHONEST in any way! Family included! Keep us updated.

Just talked to my buddy that is renting the shop and that is the grandson of the deceased owner of the Impala. Sounds like there haven’t been any arrests made yet. The Impala and crew cab square body were ditched which is how they were found. Sounds like meth heads might have been involved. Praying they get the rest of the stuff back and some go to jail over this deal.

Yeah, know why I have that as my signature? My 30 Ford pickup was stolen from a teeny little town in Oregon after my dad died.....turned in as stolen [2006] but it's never been located.
I'm really happy you got the '62 back and I hope the rest of the stuff comes back soon rockysabone.jpg

Just received the list of stuff that was stolen. Wow, they had to have been in there multiple days to get off with so much stuff. Sad world we live in anymore.

Man, sorry to hear that Rocky. Sadly, that is what I expected to come of this Impala as well. I was pretty surprised when I heard that the family had gotten it back.

They need to watch FB Marketplace and CL. These guys generally are not the sharpest.

Yea, sounds like some stuff was for sale on Marketplace. But, the ads were taken down once the investigation started and news spread that they were looking for the stuff. I ***ume the thieves somehow found out that they might be caught selling very identifiable stuff on the internet...

I'm glad they found it in one piece and not a low rider in Calif.

Sounds like it did get some minor damage that will require some repainting. But, yea, still pretty amazed that it wasn't about 1000 miles away or parted out already. Thankfully, my buddy is a painter and can fix the damage himself.

Thank goodness it was recovered! I'm very cautious about others seeing my cars at my house, because you never know who they know.

If the names of the perpetrators are made public, be sure to post them here. That way they can be properly ostracized from this community. The internet era's version of the pillory. Mike
