   ...this might help Root...;)

This looks like a Shiload and nicely executed as well...

Any of you Louversmiths ever fill any of these 3, 4, 5 and 6 Ford pickups?

...that was a long run for that style of pickup are all the hoods same length?

Thanks! The hoods are the same for all 4 years. If my old eyes are correct, there are 8 rows of 22 which works out to 176. My 53 F100 had 124, if memory serves. I thought that was a lot.

Just a shout out to all Hambers contributing to and enjoying this Thread...

I'll never tire of the art of Louvers and their influential part in the look and function of Hotrod/Custom...I've been off and on busy on a home project and thank those sharing their images and stories of louvers that put a smile on their face and even money in their pockets...the Thread is better for it...

    Regards, Stogy

...Chip (Hamber Need Louvers) shared this image which is the same one I shared earlier...this is a poor image but clearly shows the placement on the hood in relation to the back, side, and front...;)

I texted Chip yesterday. He was out, but he said he would give me input. He just louvered my 36 hood for me.

Well you certainly have a great connection in the Louver department, that's for sure...please share them here for us when you get them done...some in work and layout images would be nice...Chips been in the business for quite a while...these Louversmiths sometimes have pretty old machines that have punched right through the Hamb glory years...

Here’s the hood he just finished for me. I wanted it to flow. So many tapered hoods get the two straight rows and the outer 4 are at weird angles. I told him how OCD I am About stuff like that and he told me that was no problem.

I knew we had louvers on the hood of our 327powered 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery. As the old color photos show or attempted to show, they were there. But recently, a new photo popped up in another old journal found in a different memorabilia box from those times past...

A newly found photo stuck in an different journal from the way back time machine.

    Hello,

For the life of our photo files from the old days, the ones I took or my wife took just did not show all of the features of the nearly finished 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery with a 327 SBC motor. I know I took some photos of the interior and upholstered back cave. (along with the newly installed repairs that took many months to remove, install, adjust and get it right for safety) But, the mystery is that those photos may have bit the dust along with a giant negative file book on one of our whole house clean outs during a move or two.

The 1940 Ford Sedan Delivery project was as nice as possible with a recent detail job completed. I had just finished spending the early morning doing the best detailing I could with the good old "Classic Car Wax" I could not let those hours spent without a memory or two...The hood louvers finally showed up in a photo.

The photo may have been taken the day before we went to our mom’s house for a visit. I noticed that the hood lever release is missing or if clear enough, broken off as told in another story earlier.

At the time, our darkroom was set up and a separate file was created for all photographs taken over the years of hot rods, custom cars, surfing, and motorcycles. But, that file box filled up fast and then another one had to be created. So, in the many moves from apartment to different homes and set ups as an office, those files may have been lost or misplaced.

Our final house has one box left of our memorabilia from those past times. But there are no photos inside. Just keepsake stuff. Minimalism is our motto as it has been for over 60 years. So, we are now down to one box from several stacked high in our closets, attics and if there was room, garage space.
