The cork gasket is leaking on the rear of 48 Ford oil pan. Engine is in car. Whats best cement to use that will hold cork gasket in block until I get oil pan on. thanks

What I've done is trim the actual cork part so it will fit the cap properly then curl it up and tape it that way so it's held in a circle and that will help keep the shape then when you're ready to install it I use the right stuff gasket sealer and it will hold it in place for a while.

Thanks, can you use the right stuff with oil pan gasket, or use it without pan gasket ?

I put it on both sides of the gasket on most everything and no leaks

Thanks very much, sounds like a good idea to bend rear seal.
