Gary, I don't think I've seen your thread before. Wow, lots of work to get to the fun parts. I cheated and jumped right to the fun parts lol. Proud of you for sticking with it. Thankful to you for sharing the whole thang. It's looking great. Valve covers are awesome.

When you're sanding and sanding and sanding and sanding...
Maybe it helps a little to know there are people out here like me... and @mad mikey lol... reading your story in the early morning hours. :D

    Getting exciting.
    Gonna be cool.

The headers got sandblasted, then cleaned with wax/grease remover.

VHT painting instructions call for heating them, both before & after spraying. I used what I have- MAP gas.
    20230209_02.jpg

Spraying a smooth, even, run-free finish was tough, especially around tight bends.

    Yeah, like watered-down skim milk.

More small part detailing until warmer weather, then I'll resume bodywork.:)

I sanded & degreased the frame & small parts while awaiting a warm, dry Saturday.

    20230414_1600.jpg

Same epoxy as on the body; but reduced 4:1:1 for better flow-out, and with a *decent* gun regulator.

Unfortunately, the 15' long "booth" was a bit too short for all-around frame access and I accidently bumped into the hanging parts a couple times.
    20230416_1100.jpg

I squirted a bit less than a half-gallon of primer (before thinning). Even on the rotisserie, getting even coverage on the center x-member was tough. Still, everything got ~3 coats before running out.
    20230416_1130.jpg 20230416_1200.jpg

Between coats, I checked coverage, drained the compressor tank, and refilled the spray gun cup.
    20230416_1400.jpg

I'm pretty happy with the results.:)
Now for a filler skim coat on the frame and more sanding dust.

That silver looks way to good to be rustoleum spray paint! That realy does look great for detailing your parts.
