Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

One of the koolest kustom accessory that I've seen in a while....

 

What did they use to extend the hood on the Hirohata merc, was it a cadillac upper grille bar ?

 

Was this what they used

 

'Pamela', built by Hamber @DirtyNapkin, man, i love this car, an amazing build. The build thread is one of my favourites.

 

Likely a combination of tubing, sheet metal, and lead. If someone knows for certain, please chime on in.

Pretty sure this was built in Buffalo, NY at Ron Gerstners body shop.

Kustom with a lot of kool history.

 

The Hirohata uses a 51 Merc grille shell, which sticks out further than a 49/50 to match up to the big emblem/chrome bar on the front of the hood on a '51. Both the hood lip and top of the grille shell were flared/extended, then the top of the grille shell was cut loose and welded to the hood, thus extending the bottom of the hood into the grille opening. The Caddy looks like as @lucky says tubing and sheet metal.
