Can anyone tell me how to correct the gap between the bottom of the hood and the top of the grill? 20230212_140626.jpg

MY 39 Ford had the same problem, had to take the grille loose and raise it to hood.

Might just be the angle of the pic, but it looks like the hood isn't fitting down between the fenders on the driver's side.

Straight on picture shows it's sitting right on the p***enger side, but isn't sitting down on the drivers side...the issue is fender/hood fitment on drivers side.
How does it seat at the cowl?
You may have to loosen the fender attaching points, concentrating at the "Y" brace/yoke, the drivers side fender seems to be inward at the nose too much.
Once drivers side fender is moved outward at the grille, it should allow the hood to sit down, filling that gap.
When ***embling these cars it is important to align the hood first, then adjust corresponding pieces to it.
    Good luck.
