Sorry for the request, I didn't find any threads in the search... I'm looking for photos of 1937 fords that are styled like they would have been built no earlier than 1955 or so... Sedans, Coupes, convertibles, phaetons woodies, etc. Anything... just looking for inspiration! Thanks! Ben
Here's an all stock '37 Ford next to my '34 Sedan... OK, so it's a '37 Model-Y...not exactly what you were looking for prolly
Finding pictures of '37 Fords in early hot rod mags will be difficult because they were considered ugly by rodders, compared to '36 and '39-'40, and they were used more extensively by dirt track racers. I found three from '61-'62 after checking Hot Rod from '59 to '63.. Mutt
Hot Rodders use to think that these were ugly! I love this body style they look great as tail draggers.
These are some great photos! Thanks Guys! I traded Tuck a model a sedan for the cowl and front fenders for a '37 sedan. I'm very excited about it, and have lots of plans, just trying to decide if I want a coupe, a sedan, or an "other"... Here's a sedan that I took photos of this summer, I always thought it was a '37, but I just noticed the dash says '38... they are very similar except the hood-side trim (from what I can see)... would a '38 body work with my fenders? How about '35/'36 or later? Thanks! Ben
I would't put a '37 front on that! Of course I am not one to talk, cause I would put a '36 front in on a '35 and not even think about it.
It's a sickness. It's taken me a year to stop referring to the Bonneville car as a '36 when it really is a '35. hahaha
yah, im collecting parts here and there for my 35 faux phaeton with 36 front sheetmetal.. i think its safe to say all of this car stuff is a sickness
A friend of mine builds woodies. Starts with just the cowl..... http://www.woodieworks.net/ww//newprojects9-01/37wood.html Mutt
Here,s Nick,s being used to transport my little Sister on her recent big day. This car started life as a British spec 4 door. 15 years in the making, Nick has done a fantastic job of building the 37 Tudor he always wanted. Personally I think he should of left it a 4 door as it was a right royal pain in the ass getting my Sister and I in the back of the damn thing. Amazing to think these things were once considered ugly. I think she looked pretty good that day. No offence lil Sis.
Looks like I'm running the same wheels as that one, or was anyway. I have a few slantback parts left over if you end up with a tudor slant, I've got a decklid, rear fenders and front fenders, I found better ones but they were too good to scrap, let me know if you need any bits.
Is that license plate just screwed on the fender of the blue tudor? As long as we're talking 37 Fords, I'm looking for a right rear coupe fender.
I would not change that front end. it looks every bit as good as a 37 front. A few pics of mine in various stages. http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v11/petejoe/1937%20Ford%20Coupe/
heres a few pics of mine its done as a 50's or 60's style hotrod.looking to sell it soon and move on to other things.
Our '37 that we have had since '76. The picture was taken at Billetproof Florida when it was at Garlits' place.
