Got to pull the shift lever out of trans , its a 37-39 can't really remember (project on back burner few years) , anyway synchro has been installed , from what I searched = put in neutral, unscrew collar , pullout the little pin( don't drop!! ) and it should pull out ? thank, gus..
Pull straight up. Hopefully the pin isn’t so loose that it falls right down the hole. If it does, you should probably find a tighter one to replace it.
Just to make sure the pin doesn't leap to its death as you remove the shifter, use a small magnet and remove the pin BEFORE you remove the shifter.
yes will do, scientists need look no further, a black hole exits in my shop floor , confidence restored., thanks all gus..
When we were young, (14) I was helping the neighbor kid with his A-V8 project his Dad gave him. The kid unscrewed the collar and lifted the stick out of the '39 box, dropping the pin down in. I loaned him my long magnet, but it stuck on every gear and both walls of the case before he said "Hang this, I'm gonna just drop it out of the bottom..." Drained the trans, and TWO (2) pins dropped out with the 90 wt. gear oil! I said, "Well, well." (he said some other stuff... LOL
