This photo came up on another thread which leads to a question I’ve no answer to. I seen this “style” cap only once that was turned into a clock. At that time the clock did not say Chevrolet but looked very much like these. What model Chevy is it from? Is it a dog dish as photo seems to indicate?
Thanks, I guess no one in So Cal is sporting them on their 61 62’s to see. I was told by the seller of the clock that he believed they were a nock off replacement but no idea for what vehicle.
I have one of those that I am turning into a clock when I get around to it. Identical. Mine I am sure is a repop, it says Taiwan on the back. LOL A surveyor friend found it in the road ditch.
I forgot to mention that the cap/clock did not say Chevrolet on it. Like it was a JC Whitney replacement from back in the day.
I got an idea that mine was made this century. Hubcaps make good clocks. I got a moon disc that the same guy found in a road ditch, I know that it is a repop of some sort. its huge, like for Dubs. A little herder to find clock works for because the hands have to be so long.
Howdy P&Bner You’ll find the high torque movement here that you need for longer hands. And the hands too. I’m in the process of building a clock and just ordered the high torque movement and hands from this place. https://www.clockparts.com/blog/ Be well Jeff
Cool man thanks for the link. I hope this does not keep me from working on that old truck in my yard. The man would probably like to get it back.
