Jim Westrick, a true car guy, from Longview Washington pastaway February 5th 2023. If your a car guy in the pacific northwest chances are you knew Jim, cool guy. R.I.P "Jimmy Deluxe"
Jimmy was quite the character, there was never a dull moment when he was around. You could always depend on him for lots of laughs. He will be greatly missed in our hot rod community. R.I.P. Jimmy, God Speed!
Jimmy was quite the guy, and a good friend. The dry sense of humor, and the facial expressions he had, will never leave my memory. The video he made with Dale Mathews is priceless. RIP old buddy.
I knew of Jim mostly as being the Father of Mark Westrick who had one of the coolest deuce hiboy roadsters on the planet. Here are a few cars that I've known of Jim and Mark having.
Jim & I were great friends for many years..had SO MUCH FUN together. Really hard to believe he's gone... RIP Jimmy Deluxe, aka, "The Round Man With The Square Deal" !!! BV
Has about fifty cars stored in a couple of locations. All are on par with the above cars. Jim lived down the street from me and would wave in passing several times a week. Great car guy. RIP Jim.
I sure like the way it turned out !!!! Don King of Longview air brushed the "chrome trim" .....did a fine job !!!
I remember seeing that 55 at swap meets year after year no one bought it because with its chopped top and sectioned body you could not sit up right in it....did Hurley do the top swap? I remember him saying that Jim had talked to him about it ....I remember seeing the car that the top was going to get swapped with at your shop but I never saw it with the chopped top installed.
I got both of them and swapped the top at my shop Quality Muffler Hut in Longview Jim got sectioned '55, & Gary Welter got chopped top gasser
