Hey, trying to Id an older Holley 4 barrel. List 80469 (date 2262), I don’t have any older listings. Doesn’t come up in a search. I just want to know what it was, looks like a 650 double pumper. Thanks.
Doesn't come up in my Holley performance parts dealer cat. from '84. All list numbers are 0-**** or 0-****-x. But that's only 39 years old. Pretty sure (but could be wrong) most list numbers carried over for years. Could it be newer? Post more pic's.
Doesn't show on my list. Pictures of the whole carb and measurements of the throttle bores would help.
I found a thread on a Camaro site where someone was asking about the same number carb more than 20 years ago and got no answer
If it was made for an OEM you won't find it in any of the Holley listings; just aftermarket applications...
So I have a parts house catalog. It does list list numbers for direct replacement carbs by OEM with year ranges that go back to 1965. I know that is not the same as an original OEM carb. After looking again I did find in the numerical list four five digit list numbers that end at 0-80057. These last four are model 5200's 280 cfm 2 bbls. These were the last ones on the numerical list. It also has a long list of OEM engines that are "NOT approved for sale in California with a four barrel carburetor".
That number seems familiar to me for some reason. Maybe it’s a Ford- Holley? Seems like they had numbers like that.
All of the Ford OE and service replacement Holley carbs I've ever seen had a Ford part number stamped on the air horn. Could be an International Harvester application, Holley built some weird ones for them. More pics would be very helpful....
From a Hamb thread about 10yrs ago. here is the Holley tech linc number they used and got an answer to a similar question in about 5 minutes. The number still reaches Holley: 1-270-781-9741 Good luck.
I have all of the Holley O.E. and performance manuals so far I have not been able to find that number.
That's what the the book say's. I had to cross reference the spec's and it shows info for secondary jets and bore diameters but.... after some digging the model 5200 is a 2bbl. THE BOOK MUST BE WRONG. Post 10 has been corrected.
Not quite. I think you need the Venturi diameters for primaries and secondary's as well. For example a 650cfm double pumper (0-4777) has the same primary and secondary throttle bore diameters as a 750cfm double pumper (0-4779) at 1-11/16" but different venturi diameters.
Sorry for the delay, out of commission a couple days with the flu. So here's the pix. Angled boosters, same metering blocks 11180 front and rear, but the secondary mix screws, vacuum port, and power valve are all blocked. Looks like someone did it on a rebuild. 70 jets primary, 80 secondary. I saw the Camaro post as well. My carb guy is gonna spec it to see what it is, but that's gonna be a while. A call to Holley says it's a later 4776 but not so sure. A 650 with angled boosters? Unless it's a 80496 with a bad stamp.
I enlarged the pics. please select "full image" when posting pics, especially when you are looking for ID help
Angled boosters? I think down leg boosters was the term. They are not annular discharge. A 0-4776 would be a 600cfm and I don't think they originally came with a secondary power valve or secondary idle mixture screws. It would have 134-142/134-143 metering blocks. What are the throttle plate bore diameters?
Most of the bore sizes are fractional in 1/16" increments. 1.650" seems off. A 600cfm (0-4776) has 1-9/16" bore diameters which is 1.5625". I have no detailed break down of plate numbers at the moment.
Maybe some one else knows if Holley somewhere along the line changed their numbering system or has a newer catalog. A picture of the metering block gaskets "might" reveal more. Where's carbking?
The manual choke and double pumps rules out most factory applications. I'm thinking with that bore size it would be a 650cfm, maybe from one of the Avenger series. They all use the 5 digit list numbers.
Yes, shape of bowls as well. The floats are white plastic. Maybe this unit was so bad, Holley won't admit to it.
#172 and #173 throttle plates are 1-11/16"( 1.687") .....so it is at least a 650 cfm but could be as big as 800 cfm since the 650 thru 800 all share that same throttle plate size, deciding factor is venturi minor diameters primary and secondary in the main body. Difference between 172 and 173 plate is likely just thickness of the plates....I don't have a set handy to check at the moment. Standard 2 corner idle Double Pump would not have rear mixture screws nor a rear power valve. Secondary block may have the same ID numbers, but will not be finish machined for power valve or idle mix screws or vacuum port. A 650 cfm would have downleg boosters, only the 600 cfm and 700 cfm have straight leg boosters in the Double Pumper line-up.
