I noticed tonight when I was looking at my 31 slant window windshield that the frame is tapered from bottom to top about 3 degress, maybe less. The top of the window frame is just slightly wider than the bottom. This is obviously going to effect my windshield chop a bit. I'm thinking I may have to add about a 1/4" to the center of the bottom arch. The top must remain the same width or it will not fit the under-visor panel correctly.

Did anyone else encounter this with their Model A windshield frame? If so, did you do as I mentioned above, or is there an easier, more appropriate way of handling this?

I took about a 1/4" out of the top window frame, visor, sheetmetal behind visor, and roof frame. It keep the original A pillar angles. It became evident that I had to do this once I set the roof back on minus 4 inches.

All easy welds though, and my chop saw made nice straight cuts.

I have no idea what other people have done......hope this helps!

Unless you are doing a real radical cut, you should just be able to slightly knock the top of the vertical frame sections outward until they meet up with the top piece. I recommend a rubber mallet. But do it carefully. It doesn't take a lot of force to move them around.

It appears in the pic of Idle Gossips chop that he cut the w/s frame in the center. I don't know why he went to all that work. Just cut the amount you need off the top corners (at an angle) and redrill the "L" bracket screw holes.

Ahhh... okay! Didn't know if I could do that or not. That sounds like a good options. It's looking like it's only going to be about 1/2" or less.

Mad-lad.... I'll do an update. I was going to wait, but it might be a bit before I can get more work done, so I'll do one. Keep your eyes peeled...
