I am working on a 53 Studebaker Starlight Coupe and will be switching over to front 11" discs with 10" drums on the back. I have replaced the front floors, eliminating the hole to fill the stock master cylinder. I have mocked up a bracket and modified the pedal to work with a dual master cylinder. I will need a master cylinder with the 2 ports on what would be the engine side in a normal firewall mount. This one mounts on the outside of the frame with the plunger end toward the front so the lines will come out towards the driver's rocker side. What size bore should I use and does anyone know of a application on the MC? I have it mocked up with a Ford MC from another project but it is drum/drum and the ports are wrong. I need a pretty flat cap also because of floor clearance to add fluid. I am hoping to find a decent price Ford/GM one. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

I think those that know will need to know wheel cylinder sizes, as opposed to drum and disc diameters. Your setup might match up to a factory automobile that is a less costly purchase vs aftermarket.

Yes, I have looked at those, out of my price range. And I really don't want 2 reservoirs mounted on my firewall. I see the "Corvette" styles ones with ports on both sides and that looks like it might work. 1" bore on them. Thanks for your suggestion!

Gm and ford ones generally have the ports on the other side.

With no power booster a 7/8” MC bore with a 6 to 1 peddle ratio work very good with a disc/drum combo. A Wilwood MC has ports on both sides if that helps.

I'm running a Wilwood remote master under the floor in my 56 Dodge, I have the reservoirs mounted on the fender well under the hood. Dual 3/4" will work great on drums...

  10. There are a few in my "thru 1981" EIS Catalog. If one in this photo looks like it will work once you determine bore you want, I'll lookup what it fits. There are only afew in the whole catalog with a 7/8 bore. 20230302_125058.jpg

Wow, that chart is really helpful! I checked a couple with the correct ports and they show 73-79 Bird (1" bore), 81 Mustang/Fairmont (7/8" bore). So, I should be able to find something somewhat common from that chart. Thanks a bunch!

  12. THANK YOU! Been preaching this for 20+ years on here. I too keep those catalogs for reference and am glad to help folks.

  14. I got that back in '81 from the local auto parts when I was redoing the front end of my '31 and I needed brake hoses. It was great for figuring out those too. 20230302_215134.jpg

  15. In the first picture, written below the E44472 cylinder is written 65-66 vette. That is wrong. E44472 is 64-66 Cad w/ bendix. Vette is E44477, guess I better put my readers on next time.
