most GM cars, mid 60s on up, except for the midsize cars starting in the late 70s.

look for the 4 bolt top cover.

Truck boxes mount on the opposite side of the frame.

Also the steering shaft size changed in the late 70s, it got smaller.

NOT SURE but maybe s-10 and s-10 blazer. I put a box off a late 60's camaro on my s-10 and it worked great outside of the shaft changing size which I dont remember to be a big deal.

The 800 gear...really a 700 gear came in many gm fullsize and mids into the 90's when the 600 gear came out....what I dont understand is why the 605 power box is not working properly...at Borgeson we used that box (until just recently) for our tri five and 58-64 conversions and they work fine...My parent just went cross country in a 62 chevy wagon...toeing a scamp trailer and the 605 conversion was flawless....Is your pully to small on your pump ?Are you gettin gwierd feeling at speed or just at Idle? Will help sort it out any way I can...Not just here to sell but also to keep people safe...call me at Borgeson 860-482-8283 or pm me and we can try to figure it out ....thanks BC

whatever the case, I would not drive it long with weak power steering, the 605 box is not designed to last long as a manual box....no ball bearings in it....

thanks everyone for your replies. that's the great thing about this board.

the pump pulley is a stock gm '64' buick riv. new pump(car quest) it doesn't feel weird going down the road at speed, only when i have to make a left or rt turn you have to really crank on it. i've only had it out onthe road about a week just road testing and haven't been to an alignment shop yet, could that be causing my problem if it's out of alignment? when it's setting parked and running it's also hard to turn.

    thanks again for any reply
