Will 53-54 Pontiac hubs fit on 53-54 Chevy spindles?
Can 53-56 Ford F100 hubs be made to fit on 56 Chevy half ton spindles?
I have a 9" Ford rear I want to put in the Chevy and want to match lug patterns.

YES, on the Pontiac with the right bearings. With the Pontiac backing plates you can use the Pontiac brakes too. The F100 hubs will need a spacer on the inner bearing.

    Pontiac is 5 on 5 not 5 on 5.5.

54 Pontiac and 53 Chevy trucks use the same front wheel bearings BCA B52 Inner and BCA B01 outer.

55 F100 takes a Natioal (all from Rock Auto) 09067 outer that has a .750 cone bore, meaning that works. The inner =National 14130 has a 1.3125 bore. The Chevy inner bearing has a 1.281 bore That's .0315 larger and you have to figure that out. Bearing with a race OD of 3.5560 and a cone bore of 1.281. Then you have to figure out if the center holes in the backing plates are the same and if you are able to redrill (if needed) new holes to mount the backin plate to the spindle and if the hub/ drum will match up to the backing plate/shoes correctly. Can you handle that or are your pockets deep enough to pay someone to do it for you?

Truthfully, it would probably be far simpler and less expensive to have the rear axles and drums redrilled for a Chevy 5 on 4-3/4 bolt pattern and go with 53/54 Chevy car drums and backing plates.

Without more detals it is hard as all hell to figure out exactly what you are trying to do except cobble something together in a way that the local spit and whittle club might have suggested.

Thanks for the info. What I want to do is put a 9" Ford truck rear end in the '56, and would like find find a way to match the Ford pattern on the front. Probably the best is to get new axles from Curry.
I'm getting a '53 Chevy from my nephew in law and am planning to put a 292 six in it if it will fit. I get different opinions on this. The truck is getting one as well.
I am just finishing my shop 2 lathes , horizontal mill, and metal shaper. As soon as I can get my hands on a vertical mill I could handle about anything.
We don't have a spit and whittle club here. The nearest wrecking yard is a 1490 mile round trip.
