Folks Of Interest Jay Leno accident

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by wraymen, Jan 27, 2023.

  1. Whether Leno sues or not, his case is high profile enough that I'm sure the local D.A. is or will be investigating, since a clothesline is somewhat of a ****y trap (NOT **** trap, you sick *******s!).

  2. ****y in this case refers to the bird if I remember correctly

Most “chained” parking lots, even ones for car lots, have a sign or 2 hanging from them. Most of the posts are less than 4’ high and the chain is much lower in the center to make it fairly easy to attach.
A dental office near me, which is also very near a High School, uses a yellow plastic chain to keep parents from using the lot to let out students. Seems to do the job pretty well.

A chain inside a four inch piece of white PVC pipe works well keeping cars out of a local cemetery.

I am glad some folks are mentioning the wire! As a bike rider for years, started riding in 1961, I have always feared the “ clothesline” after having an experience with one in college! I survived running through a persons yard on a curve and tangled with an actual clothesline! Lol That taught me to be very careful riding in alleys , parking lots , etc. Because I know some people are very possessive of their property and like to string barriers around them.
But both folks here, Jay and the property owner share some fault! Any barrier should have adequate visibility, such as flags or anything to show the barrier. Jay should have been on full alert “ cutting through” a parking lot! By his own admission, he was concerned about a leaking carb!
Also it depends on where the wire was…was it along the border of the parking lot…or strung across one of the entrances? Usually in an incident it is never 100% one persons fault. In civil matters the court ***igns a percentage of blame. Just my .02. Glad that Jay was not severely injured and wish him a speedy recovery!

As Jay would say "don't worry about it".....from Jay getting his start by basically living in his car on the streets of L.A. and coming up in to comedy world through the back doors of clubs , you get to know people and for the amount of hard work and opportunities he has done to get him where he is in life ,the man can surely take care of him self and has got to know alot of people .
    Just saying.....
I'm sure all will be taken care of and Jay will be fine and telling jokes about his "'jumping rope on a motorcycle experience " on his next comedy gig.
Take care Jay...love what you do.

Goes for a rollover in "Hemi under Gl***", starts himself on fire in his shop, crashes a vintage bike, what next, a jump over the Snake river?

Wishing Jay a speedy and full recovery. Going to miss “the garage” though. Great content, and well done show.

  14. I am a property owner and struggle with how to keep tress p***ers away from the multiple hazards on my property. I do not own any parking lots that are accessed from a public roadway. No one needs to p*** a common sense test before they buy their snowmobile, atv, bike, ultra light or other means of conveyance that they want to use to encroach on me. I don’t want anyone to get hurt, but we have multiple properties and people seem to be inventing all sorts of ways to get hurt and want to blame the property owner who should have been more responsible. In the last couple of years I have had trees cut down to create a trail, snowmobile drive belt left in the field to be consumed by harvesting equipment, joy riders and hunters drive through standing crop. One time they dismantled the gate/ barrier and took it home. We just want to live and let live and build hot rods in our spare time.

Not as bad as you, but I got tired of people entering my place where I have my restoration shop (an old XVIII century farm that was part of the next door castle) Some people came in just to visit the beautiful architecture, some drive through, some explored very well since I found foot prints inside the ba*****t of one of the buildings, got a couple of people parking in the driveway blocking the entrance while they go for a walk... I restore some expensive cars, I don't need people snooping around my customer cars. I laid some heavy rocks at one of the entrance, a bright yellow rope and put up cameras everywhere. The amount of unsolicited visitors decreased.
Just this week I kicked a guy out who wanted to show his son the big yellow tractor that was parked next to a 45 feet deep well that was uncovered for some work. I don't need to have to think about some tresp***ing ***** and his kid safety.
I always wondered how these people would react if I was entering their property to visit without asking them first.
Anyway I hope Jay's gonna get well soon.

Normandy. Been there, beautiful countryside and the folks seem real nice.
Too bad our Texas garden pests couldn't survive there--i'd send you a few.
Just this pix would really help with your tresp***ers.

Holly hell, are you wearing one your feet too?. The only ******* snake we have is a fang less one that eats frogs. I don't like compe***ion :D
Maybe someday I'll get some geese, they can be real nasty, don't get distracted like dogs and lay eggs unlike dogs.
We're getting side tracked from the original post...

To be fair, comedians are known to wander from one subject to another too, following some very vague connections.
