Thought you guys would be interested in an update on this car, I purchased it and the matching Mr. Ed's trailer in January 2019 and have slowly gotten around to knowing and tuning it with the help of some real good friends. This is the last Pat Foster creation before his unfortunate p***ing which turned out to be a money-no-object dream for Billy Lynch who I have known since my dad competed against him running Top Gas in the late 60's. This car is over-the-top polish and chrome and the upkeep on the magnesium and shiny bits is a serious undertaking, as you might imagine. I also own the Buick Dealers Group "Ingenue" '67 Buick GS400 funny car that my dad also constructed, that car features American Racing magnesium 5-spokes and they are a royal PITA to keep shiny as well...oh well, things could be worse, lol! She's currently all loaded up and ready for Don Prieto's Taco Protest in SoCal on Sunday, always a great event. Thanks for looking guys. A good friend of Billy's and a former driver for his Top Fuel cars, Al Segrini usually flies in for special events.
I don't have words that would do this car justice, also, I didn't think there could be a more beautiful car than the Beebe and Mulligan dragster, I'm a believer.
Oh...damn. I saw, and heard, the Buick at Amelia that year. Was nice to smell the Jolly Rodger's breath again
Complete feature on the build here... Cacklefest - Billy Lynch AA/FD Last Thursday's fire-up at the house...my neighbors love me!
WOW! The dragster is stunning ... the video was uplifting too. Congratulations on a amazing restoration, beautifully done.
Thank you for all the kind comments, I cannot take credit for the build or vision, I am merely the current caretaker who handles the polishing...here's a few more. Some side notes: This is the last car that Bob Gerdes of Circus Paints fame painted, Bob had already closed his shop at that point, so it was painted in his garage. It was also the only motor that Bob ever painted, according to Billy. Famed east Coast pinstripers Mr J (Julian Braet) and Mikey Boy layed down the graphics at Billy's Atlantic body shop in Long Island. These are the last set of heads that Joe Mondello ported, they are stamped to Billy Lynch from Joe Mondello.
That thing is beautiful!! Congratulations ! I worked for a guy in the early 80s that was Segrini’s crews chief in the 70s with the Black Magic car as well as the Brute car.
Did I miss what years this digger ran? I don't know, should there be Pie Crust Slicks on there. Educate Me. Thanx.
This is a recreation of Billy's 1967 SPE car which was built in 2007 so no racing history...Pie Crust's were long gone by '67, probably last ran in 1963-64...maybe early '65.
