Technical Need a measurement of a rubber shift boot for my T project, old vw boot.

    Anyone out there a bug owner also? need a measurement of the bottom of the boot.

    That boot is sold by several vendor’s. Some being in the business for vehicle in question. Why not message them?

  8. The VW boot isn't big enough. I can get you a measurement in a couple of days.
     
  9. I've had more bugs than Carter had little liver pills.

    The VW boot in question actually stretches over a pretty specific looking flange.

    And they're small. Something like 1 3/4" or 2"max at the base. The boots vary in shape over the years but the flange is the same (unless you start talking auto-stick or aftermarket EMPI stuff). The whole boot is about the size of a lime.

    Your shifter is going to have way more throw at that height than a VW shifter. You'd probably be hard pressed to make it work.

    Having said that, have you considered a shifter boot from a Corvair?

    Looks like it would be a simple "slip over" that would fit what you have with little to no modifications.

    Just throwin' it out there.

    Also, Porsche 911's....rubber or leather, can be cut to fit....

    Thanks guys, vw was just a thought anything that looks good and has to correct dimensions
