Yea, I started to say it looked similar to my 50 Buick but it isn’t 50. Maybe 49?

The smaller bombsite looks like the 1949 picture but when you look them up they are not the same. The other plane style looks like the 1956 Buick but again not the same. Still hunting

The Ford plane ornament should have a part # cast in on the recess on the bottom. BF-16850-A 9639. If not I wasted my time and you didn't believe me anyway.

I believe it's possibly a aftermarket one, first off all buicks usually had 3 bars except 46.
That's why I'm thinking that picture with the several ornaments are aftermarket examples because if you look them up by the year they don't all match? But then again I was looking on line and they often list things that don't go together.
Also 46 47 48 ford's had a torpedo style hood ornament also, this could be a aftermarket one for them also.
    Just my thoughts. 1678633987979980873688313996598.jpg 16786327051806099200787174794757.jpg 16786327168851975596815930169277.jpg 16786345022776402230484105585353.jpg

I bought one of those aftermarket rocket hood ornaments years ago at the Portland Swap Meet, new in the (old) box for $10.00, had the most beautiful chrome and perfectly smooth.
I had no need for it but thought it was a piece of art, ended up giving it to a friend and I don't think he needed it either but he sure liked it.

Thought it was a old aftermarket but it sure does look like the’49 Buick
Now I can carry dad’s memory with me

Correct...from your pictures I couldn't tell if it was curved or flat.
    I'm still guessing aftermarket.

I did my time, when my legs would carry me, did PIR and Expo center for years both as a buyer and seller, a friend of mine was on the Swap Meet committee for quite a few years.
I went with him a couple of times the week prior to review building/safety related issues.
The Expo center looks rather odd when empty.
I have frequented most of the Oregon meets as well as 3 or 4 in Washington state.

'53 plane won't fly. Too heavy.
I took mine to a C/L model airplane contest after I shaved it off my '53 Vickie.
Some of those guys went ape... Sold it for $20.
