Yes when taught those lessons from the start they become second nature to do it whenever they are going to use a grinder, without having to think about it!

Got some shop time today and spent it repairing the last of the rust. I’ve been putting it off for a while but decided to knock out the rust in the upper trunk area rain gutter.

The good thing about that area is that the trunk gasket covers a lot!

thanks. And I know, she’s growing up fast. I also have a 14 yr old that is itching for a project. I have to get this thing far enough along so his project can roll in. Need more hours in the weekend and more hands. (Don’t we all)

    same little girl below...

A little more work today. I trimmed the gravel pan back and recessed the front bumper. I don’t like that the bumpers stick so far out so I tucked it in a little.

thanks. I stare at it a lot to make sure it all works together.

next I’m going to fill the seems between the fender and the fender extension.

Could You post pictures of the front wooden bow ? The one that sets down onto the windshield frame .
Have You figured out what goes into the channel that the cloth top attaches to ? Some type of soft plastic or rubber ?
I hauled home a 47 Merc ragtop and those pieces are missing.

yes on the wood front bow.

The channel you asked about, do you mean the one at the rear where the top meets the body?

it’s a hard rubber tack strip. There are nails in it. I need to find someone who restored one to see what they did. I’ve never seen a replacement material. I may ask over on the ford barn.

Welded the seam on the front fender and extension. Will lead it after I strip the fenders. Grille mounts and brackets all completed. Front end is nearly ready to be removed for blasting.

I would assume like everyone else your kids get older and they get your time not the project. Would love to see more progress as it’s a cool build but it’ll happen when it happens.

The roof line and windshield look awesome and I assume the windshield is close to the 8 3/4" of windshield glass the Jesse Lopez coupe had?

Also, what page is the top bow chop on? I want to do the same on my '47 Vert
