So I have done a ton in the last 6 months. I will come back and build a better post. But here is a current picture. Lots to do yet.

That turned out great and is proof that you can turn out a real nice looking hotrod without having to break the bank if you work at it a bit.

I assembled the car and drove it from the trailer into our local winter car show. That was last February (2022). Was a huge goal of mine to drive it into that show.

Once apart I body worked and re-painted the frame. When I sprayed that I also did the firewall, dash, steering column, steering wheel, and some trim. I pulled and re-sealed the engine and gave it a new coat of gold metal flake.

Like most of us, I am far from a body man. I told myself I was going to build this in my garage the same way my grandfather would have. And I did. It’s far from perfect or good. But I love it. Sprayed it hot rod flatz mint (gloss) single stage.

It is assembled and moving. I ended up in-reversing the front spring and putting an un-reversed rear buggy spring in it. Raising the car 1”. Was able to take it on our 170 mile reliability run with really no issue.

Only thing that would make it better is if you would select full size images when you post pictures instead of thumbnails!

I will have to figure out the full-size picture thing. I agree that is annoying

Made some simple Masonite door cards and wrapped them in my poor man’s tuck and roll again. Need to start on the rear cards, will have to order more material. Broke my wife’s sewing machine, but I was able to throw together a matching shift boot as well. 9E78C892-3DB7-4D80-8646-0BA37D99D800.jpeg 17838BDA-5B1F-4EE6-9459-6C1A40712554.jpeg
