Just rusted at the bottom. But I’ll get what I can and cut it. Everyone seems to be out of stock. If this is not appropriate for a thread here let me know. Sorry in advance..

Is there any reason why you can't make them your self? The geometry looks relatively simple in the photo, should be able to build them with hand tools. I made the quarters for my '62 Mercury Wagon because no one was repopping wagon quarters, and they were in arguably worse shape than yours. A good set of body hammers, dollies and spare card board go a long ways.

  4. I did look on google. Everyone I saw was sold out. This was my last resort. Thank you though. I appreciate it. Felt dumb. But I need them fast. I’ll delete the post after I order one.

Mr 48 did do a nice google search. The only problem is that the only ones that refer to 59 ford lower rear quarters is Mac and Mills supply. Both are out of stock as mills supply would have been the manufacturing source for Mac's products. The other quarter sources are for 57/58 and are completely different. The other source shows fabricate bead rolled and brake formed rocker panel and floor patches that are usually questionable fitment quality. Mills supply was a major supplier as well as Sherman and Associates for many, many years. But in both cases their inventory of classic car panels has fallen off drastically over the years as demand has declined and I doubt they see the benefit of reissuing new stampings. Time to tune up your fab skills! and to be honest after 50 years in auto restoration body and paint., most store-bought panels don't fit very well to begin with. best of luck. Larry

  6. I’m still learning. Trying to avoid it if I have to. This is my first actual real build. Have had the car for over 20 years. It sat because I had no skills.

  8. Thanks Larry. Yeah. Mac and mills i saw were out before I posted this thread. The other two didn’t have the right stuff it seams. If I can’t find a replacement then I will definitely try to fabricate a new one. Just last resort. And that’s why I’m here. I looked for a while and nobody seemed to have any.. ‍♂️

  9. Yeah. Those are crazy prices for what looks like “new” wtf?? Lol

Let me go back and find the name of the company that had my panels for my 60 Chevy, maybe they'll be able to help. Be right back.

Nobody had the panels. I combed the entire internet, and found them on ebay. Might spend a little time searching there.

  13. Oh my god. Thank you so much! I appreciate the help! I’ll keep looking.

Schott Panels use to be the place that made all the panels for 50's and 60's cars back in the day. Both body shops I worked at bought from Schott.

  15. Did you use an English wheel? Seems like the cheapest I can find for a patch panel would be $650. Rather buy $120 of steel and buy a cheap English wheel for like 500.

  17. So I ended up buying a left side and a right side. They said the company is going out of business so that’s the only way they’ll sell it. Was $730 shipped. Pretty big panels. I thought my teacher had an English wheel but he doesn’t. The harbor freight ones don’t sell the extra wheels so I can’t afford a several thousand dollar English wheel. ‍♂️ wanted to learn so bad… but I gotta get shit moving on this car. Thanks for all you guys help! Here’s a pic. They’re sending the left and right side for 730 shipped.. bought it from mills. They’re drop shipping it because they might not ever get anymore of these.

I have a 59 too and I hope to customize it. I'm glad to see you filed this one as a traditional custom. What customizing do you plan?

I don't think so, I have an english wheel, but I don't think there was any reason to use it for those panels. A Bead Roller, Hammer and Dolly, and my thigh were all the tools needed to create those rear quarters, but my memory is a bit foggy as I did that rust repair 7 or 8 years ago. If you can get an english wheel for $500, you probably aren't going to want to use it much. Quality is key when trying to move metal, and Harbor Fright is not known for its quality. That said, doing is learning, get after it and if you muck up some sheet, who cares. Skill comes from practice, and practice means making some burnt offerings to the gods of speed and custom.

Another option is sourcing used cut offs from classic savage yards in Arizona or New Mexico. There were several that I used a number of years ago before I finally broke down and invested in the equipment to create my own panels as needed in the shop. Also, I took to buying the best possible projects I could find. Spent a lot of years bringing things back from the dead, not worth it anymore from a dollar spent point of view. One of the places in Arizona was Desert Valley or something like that. Worth a try anyhow. Larry

  21. Oh. My bad. Guess I’m still learning the ways of this forum. But I’d like to do some customizing. Besides shaving door handles and deleting the hole for the antenna I’m not sure yet. I’m sure I can make some skirts myself. I’m still learning how to learn the ways of the custom. What are some medium level customizations that you would think look good? Wanted to chop it years ago, till I learned how funky it would look!! Also, pretty hard on this car. Any suggestions?

  22. True! I went on the website for the bad reviews on that English wheel. Turns out you can’t even buy extra beads. So that’s out. Talked to my teacher and he said he doesn’t have an English wheel. I watched a video on someone doing it with a lot of basic hand tools to show it can be done without one. Didn’t even use a shrinker/stretcher. Might be helpful if I have to make some skirts. He said for this project it just might be better to buy the patch panel. So I did. Wasn’t cheap. But I have the car at school, so the quicker the better. Any traditional subtle custom ideas as a project? I’m gonna shave the door handles and remove the antenna.

  23. Yeah. This car is not rusted to hell. My friend has an impala that looks like he found the fucking thing at the bottom of the ocean. so I totally agree.. I don’t have the time to revive a car from the gates of hell.

  24. I was doing a search for 59 ford panels yesterday & came across several who have them in stock.
https://autobodyspecialt.com/ford/fairlane/1959/ had the best prices, I am waiting for a response on shipping cost.
https://www.vintagepartsclub.com/1959/ also has panels but they are not cheap, s&h included in price.
I did run across a place in Canada (https://www.blueovalclassics.ca/ext...atch-panel-lower-rear-right-63-long-x-27-high) who had panels but there panels were all hand made so fit was a issue for me on those panels. Prices were reasonable but shipping was a killer. $175 minimum deposit on shipping plus $40 for home delivery.
For a lower rear quarter their price was $51 plus shipping cost. 63" x 27" panel. At this price you gotta know fit will require some work.
    Hope this helps you out.

black car vintabe auto parts has a bunch of panels. He bought out a warehouse of Shots parts years ago and is selling them. Hell, he had enough panels that I completely replaced the rear fenders and quarters on my 1960 Merc Monterey!
