  4. Wow...well done! As a side comment, for simply "mocking up" the front sheet metal, it sure seems to fit together nicely.

  14. Moving stuff around, this 41 pickup came out of hibernation so it can hit the selling block. This is the truck I decided to sell and look for a coupe . Can’t keep ‘em all….

Is Ryan still after a 40/41 pickup?

  16. Good idea, I got stuck in a deluge last year with my tear drop scoop. I was lucky to make it home with the wet HEI.

The little jib sail under the hood is the first instance I ever saw an old hot rod build try to mitigate water coming in through the hood, and would be removable at-will too. That's a really neat historical detail.

  20. Man do I understand your excitement! I just did a similar event after a 40-year hunt for the "Just Right" 40 Coupe. I bought it in this past December for a Christmas present to myself. Rust free Rock solid with a minor bump on the Right fender. It sat waiting for me 25 years after the collision. It's undergoing a reconstruction from 70's Street Rod to my idea of what a Hot Rod should be. Pretty sure it will be HAMB friendly once done and it sure wasn't when I started but a good starting point. I like your way of building, keep up the good work. Guys like you inspire the heck out of me.

Shit man, that's not an old 4x4...you're slipping.

When my buddy Paul and I were down for GNRS we stopped by Circle - they looked too busy to entertain the likes of us so we didn't go in to bother them but we sure geeked out over the coupe that was sitting outside...

'39-'40 coupe or '40-'41 pickup......right at the top of the bucket list for me!! Super find sir! That is going to be one sweet hot rod.

  26. Those 'rain trays' and 'drip pans' were common (and a must) in this area in the '50s/'60s. I never heard how well they worked, but I wouldn't have a louvered hood without something like that.

Very nice 40, enjoy it! It looks to me like that louver diaper was made out of the shroud of Turin. I've never seen one before but it makes sense from a practical standpoint.

  30. Wow! What a great old 40. Looks like the hard work is behind you. And the cowl vent is chromed!
Reminds me of my old sedan: dash was completely chromed!
