I know we should have ordered a seat frame sooner. Our container leaves for down under in a month. Glide is out of stock for 8 weeks and wise guy are shifting buildings and a 60 day wait. Is there any one else that does a stock height seat with reclining back and lift up base. Just a bare frame.

Check with Snyder's in Ohio. They should helpout.
Although I heard a recent grump about price, I cant verify.
    Their forte is stock reproduction
I just looked there they show only Model A and 33 Chevy p/u's
No frame only spring sets, with an option of a 2 inch higher seatback if desired.
Looks like the pair comes to under 6 bills.

Thanks @Tow Truck Tom. Snyders appear to only do original type sprung cushions and backs . We need a full metal frame with lift up base and recliner back .

Make one? I did! These days I have more time than money, I'm strangely much happier overall though!

I'll admit I'd have been a bit lost if I didn't already have both a Glide seat and Bengals to glean inspiration from, but it's by no means a copy!

PPrather; I'm at a loss at where to send him for what he's looking for. My upholstery man would rather I never showed up with a Glide or Wise Guys seat. I still like the looks of an original style seat but it doesn't articulate like the OP wants. He might check So-Cal they show a Glide seat on their web site and might accidentally have one in stock?

Hi Brian, I made mine from a Mitsi ute bench seat, some of them have a folding back

If you strip the foam and fabric off a 80's Chrysler mini van middle seat, it looks just like the one that "happydaze" shows above. I used one in my Brookville roadster with just a few modifications. Worked well.

I don't think 80's Chrysler mini vans were available in New Zealand, they weren't here in Australia.
I used a late 70's, early 80's Mazda ute seat in my 32-5W with 8" cut out of the middle, the back tilts forward but the base is fixed. I ***ume the OP needs the base to lift up for access to the storage area underneath.

No dodge or Chrysler mini vans here. Most old wrecked pickups here are parked with the windows gone or down and the seat frames are toast. Yes the battery and electrics will be under the seat, In our 37 coupe i used a middle row seat from a Mitsubishi chariot , super comfortable , looks correct with a split back . But doesn't fold forward very much.

I have one new in the original box from Glide plus the seat sliders. Seat back is two inches shorter than stock. PM me if interested.

PM sent to @nmgasman Have tried several vendors and radio silence from all , only So Cal replied promptly as to having none in stock and a 5 week wait. So i take it all the other vendors are too busy to reply or have none . ???

Found a seat new and and still in the box , @nmgasman Aka , Art, from Albuquerque was going to deliver it personally to us at Pate swap meet, but thanks to his buddies Wayne and Gene they brought the seat to Pate. We found Glide was just too hard to work with .
