Maybe a dopey question for some but here we go. I have electrical wipers in my truck, some of these trucks came with vacuum wipers. It was either a factory option on this truck or someone added it before I got the truck.. I checked my chevy truck shop manual and it does show how to wire up electrical wipers. The wiring diagram calls for a brown 18 gauge wire for electrical wipers to be plugged in with pink 20 gauge wire on the ignition switch.

I found my brown wire coming from the wipers. - I have an accessory block can I plug that brown wire into an accessory port? If so what size fuse should I use?

Disclaimer - These wipers did work before I replaced the wiring harness. There was a lot of stuff going on with my wiring. It was ugly, messy and had its share of issues. The wipers, radio, lighter and heat were all wired together in a little rats nest under the radio. This is why I replaced the harness with an original style reproduction.

The Painless harness I have has a 15 amp fuse for the wipers.

The original electric wipers were standard with the V8 engine, iirc. The wiper motor used in 55-57 is different from that used in 58-59. the earlier one was like the 55-57 cars, the later one is the 58 car unit, but it's a kluge how they mounted it. Uses different transmission (linkage) also. And the cab is shaped differently where the motor sits, they modified the sheet metal in 58 to make it fit.

Good luck getting it working...they're a pain....

I got the newport engineering wiper motor to put in mine, they are pretty reliable.

    Thanks guys,
Let’s see how it goes when I plug the brown and the pink. If I can get it to fire I’ll add the 15am fuse.
