Sounds like an alternative personal service. Illegal in some countries.

I'm gonna be the bad guy, or maybe capt obvious? Maybe this is why strategic access holes are in frames. Where is the easiest place to put one? Inside. Behind the cowl maybe. Worried about water? Drill a big hole the size of a plastic plug. Style up, do an oval. Two holes with midsize holesaw, cut the middle. Wrench access. Form follows function. No? Yeah? Shut up?

I never did post pics previously so here we go again.

I bought 1/2" heavy duty nut inserts. They are made to be epoxied into concrete. They have about 1" of threads which I like.

I found a drill bit that just barely matched the outside diameter of the lip of the insert. Drilled a hole into some 1-3/4 x 3 x 1/8" strap, the hole was small enough to allow me to actually tap the insert into the hole tightly. Once that was done I turned them over and tig welded the insert to the strap. I then drilled a hole into the frame and drop the ***embly onto the frame with the insert facing down. Welded the strap to the frame.

Simple but plenty stout, I don't think an accident will be able to move the insert or the Welded mount off of the frame and if it did finally have enough force I'd probably never know it at that point.

We used a ton of rivnuts on ***emblies at work. There are many types and we had a special puller with its own compressor to install them. I wouldn't use one for something that sees abuse and where great strength is needed. The advantage to them is to use many, spaced out of course.
