hey im new to this forum and i been searchin for info on how to split a exhaust manifold on a chevy inline six and the info is not to clear. so how do you accomplish this?
from another post: "you can do it yourself. Pull the manifolds off, separate the intake and exhaust, knock the heat riser stuff out of the middle of the exhaust, fill the holes left by the missing shaft. block off one side.(true split that way) Go to a muffler shop, get a flange that matches the original outlet and a chunk of pipe. Cut a hole in the bottom up front, weld on the pipe and flange. Watch the oil and fuel pump locations though" also see this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11972
or take it to Kansas Kustoms and they'll do it for you... or check with Crestliner on the HAMB. BTW, if you knock out the heat riser how are you going to get heat to the carbs when it's cool out? Plumb water heat?
check out inliners.org, http://www.stovebolt.com/links/, and see if you can't find the website for pat's trucks (a company).
Has anyone used Kansas Kustoms to do this? Their web site looks great, just wanted to know if anyone has any experience with them.
Then they'd better take down their website!! I was thinking about calling them, maybe I will just to be sure. I'll post if I get anywhere.
