I am working on my 39 ford truck and I am trying to find a booster setup that will work for my setup. I am looking for pictures and information. I have a truck with the cross member 90 degrees to the frame rail not a pickup built on a sedan frame with diagonal cross members. I have the master cylinder size etc worked out (mc from truck axles/brakes came from) but I am unable to find a pedal and booster setup that also allows for a clutch.
I would like to use the original pedal setup if possible.
Is it possible to make it work with out a booster. I know the drum brakes did not have a booster but I have disc brakes now.

Can't you use stock pedals and run the booster and master behind the pedals with a long rod.

  4. You don't need a booster unless your legs are weaker than mine and mine are weak enough to have put me on disability @ age 50 (18 years ago).

I believe 7:1 is pretty desirable with a manual setup

    PBR VH44 remote booster.
    You mount it anywhere inline.

Could also use a hydro booster - commonly used in GM astrovans from the 90's I think... mount it where you need to

Google Under Floor Boosters look at images and forum posts. Here one picture without a booster but the set up could be the same with a booster.

thanks for the picture. Is that yours? Why only single curcit master cylinder? I am running the same trans and will do something similar with the park brake.

It’s mine, I have had good luck with that master cyl and setup. You could do the same with a dual cyl. With multiple holes you can tune the ratio to your liking.

Thanks. I am old with old man knees so I cant stomp as hard as I could when I was a youngster

  13. The stock peddle will work fine without a booster. You are way overthinking this man.

I have a manual MC on my 35 pickup with discs on the front and drums on the rear. It's ok for most situations. I worry when I have to shower down on it though. My next one will have a booster.
