    Yep,
When I put it up it was called off topic and full of drama.

Lets see if we can get some drama going on this one.

Engines and transmissions aside, theres Corvair and vega steering boxes in ford hot rods, 9" fords in any chevy thats serious about going fast, MII's in everything made by everybody(theres even an MII kit for S-10s), Chevy discs adadped to the MII stuff, Buick drums on Ford straight axles, GM HEIs adapted for use in Ford motors, the list goes on... Ford and Chevy stuff has been interchanged for decades.

Maybe the solution is a pair of Calvins peeing on each other...

Practically spreaking, Ford would never want GM's union benefits package which adds about $2000 to the cost of every GM car. And why would GM want Ford? There's no unique product at Ford that would complement what GM has, only replace it. No point.

Lots of Model T's had engines made by the Dodge Bros. in them.

Doesn't GM's Saginaw make steering for Ford & Mopars?

And Ford makes gl*** for everybody?

Did Pontiac just add another fin to a stolen Ford tail fin idea in '59?
Or did Ford take one off the Pontiac idea?

And the dealers add that amount or more on to the sale prices again for "undercoating" and "Marvelous Life TIme Guarantee Body Glaze"... So what?

    Yep,

Tingler's right. Alotta drama. Infact, this would present a very big issue.

    "IF this were to happen"

-Already...Chevy motors fit in FORDs perfectly....9 times outta 10...
-Stering boxes and Rears are not gonna be a problem in the future.... there will be a 9" 14 bolt rear, along with an Aluminum 'Vega' steering box,
And the ultimate 6 speed from hell. M-69 Japcrusher.

-->BUT WILL IT BE METRIC or SAE sizing on all this new ****???

So since GM killed the F-body, rumor's of its return, and now....instead will there be a Z/28 Stang? lol.....Or a Camaro GT?? OR T/AGTSVTZR1

Carrol Shelby will be very confused next year.

Just a joke. Seriously. It'll prob not happen. Before that happens I could see Ford selling off their luxury brands though and then bring back the Edsel to enhance sales, as they did so well with the FORD 500. j/k

GM & FORD are the last true blood Americans car company's left. The ecnonomy cant afford them to merge. So do some one a favor. GO BUY A FORD!

Ha ha They might as well, everyone needs a partner in the last years of there lives at the top right? We will see how Fords new ex-Boeing CEO can do to straighten up Bills ****. The days of the detroit big three are over, it was good while is lasted. Chrysler might as well join the party.

When I heard that GM and Toyota were joining, the follwoing joke arose:
What do you get when you cross a Chevrolet and a Toyota?
    - A toilet (toy-let)

Can anyone come up with one for the Ford and GM divisions this time round?

I like the new Mustang and the new Challenger, and I love the C6 and C6R Corvette. Other than that, I've lost interest in most new American cars. Come to think of it, I pretty much walked away from them when I saw what they offered us in 1973.

I work for Ford. Haven't heard anything about this. Stranger things have happened. Keep me posted.

Well.... it would be nice to get a discount at the Chevrolet Parts counter.
