The primer grey 40 PU was pretty nice from 5 feet. Flathead, all the tins were there, no evident rust or dents but one never knows what is lurking beneath the fresh primer. 21k on it. Beats the 34k on a 40 the previous weekend at the bolt swap meet. Although the Bolt truck had a 350/350 combo that some may find alluring over the flatty. But from what I saw, this grey primer truck was a decent buy. The hood was in the bed and looked straight as well.

And the number if doesn't find a home but I think this one is a bit of a bargain.

Good gl***, bumpers, grille, boards, hood, steel fenders...Great starting place of drive as is.

^^^ @Bandit Billy I actually know a little about this truck, worked on it some with the previous owner. It is a nice clean, nice running little truck. Basically stock flatty runs well.

You can tell a nice vehicle generally from a once around. That one checked the boxes.

Went to Epo today at opener, and it was a huge bust! I'd guess 30-40% of the spaces inside and outside were empty! I felt ripped off paying the parking and entry, to discover so many empty spots everywhere! I wont go back to Expo again. I've done Expo for 30+ years, and PIR ever since it was added. I'll just do PIR from now on and save my feet the walk.

I didn't go today, but a buddy was there at the gate when it opened today and left within 3 hours, said the same thing. We have had worse weather, I hope it isn't a sign of things to come. I know last year saw a lot of trucks and trailers stolen from motel car parks. That soured a lot of people from out of town.

We are thinking about camping out at PIR next year. Bring the trailer and a bunch of **** to sell, cook some brats, drink responsibly and rent a golf cart. Hope it doesn't snow.

Just got here. I am looking for a bbc blower intake, a 28 spline 9 inch posi third member with 3.24-3.73 gears or a pair of 15 inch mag front wheels. It doesnt need to be the best swap meet as long as I find what Im after.

I also was all done at Expo at 10:00 a.m., which is about 4 hrs. earlier than normal. I have setup at PIR before, but didn't stay there at night. It's a fun venue, and more user friendly with looser rules about what you can ride around the track. I've used my mountain bike with my granny wire cart behind the last two years, and it works great.
After many decades of going to both meets, I hope Expo keeps going, but I wont return until I hear reports of it getting back to normal.

Talking to a few of the "red coat" guys I know. Most of those spaces were guys from California that got stuck at the p*** as I5 has been shut down due to weather. The inside was pretty much sold out and most of the lower lot was sold. I will say though inside was a lack of the bigger companies. So hoping this was a odd year.

Did walk out of the expo with a brand new set of running boards for my 33 pickup.

Cool video and thanks for doing the walking for us.

I don't think you will get rid of the homeless problem anywhere in the PNW until they go hard core on stopping the drug traffickers.

We were at the Expo. First time I have ever had anything stolen out or our booth. They took several aluminum pipe bending dies right under our noses. If you know someone who now "owns" them please let me know I would like them back.

If the inside was "sold out" they sure didn't show up inside! Huge vacant areas in all 4 buildings. Can't imagine all those vacant spaces inside and outside were all from California dealers not showing up?

I dont know about the dealers, I can see the bigger businesses saying no to portland now with the mess around the area, but I am just going off what I was told by the few swap meet committee members I know. I think though the meet is gonna shrink on its own as the are raising the prices yet again for stall spaces.

I can see quite a few from Cali not wanting to make the drive due to weather. The guy I bought the running boards from lives in Sacramento and he was gonna try and pack up last night as there looked to be a another storm coming in at the p*** that would probably shut it down again.

I was pleasantly surprised as well. When we left PIR they routed us back under I-5 and out alongside the huge Amazon fulfillment center that used to be the horse racetrack. Last year that street (up to the old GI Joes) was lined in **** RVs, burned out cars, tents and shopping carts. This year the entire street was clean and no sign of debris and derelict vehicles.

Now if they could do something about that off ramp clover leaf near PIR. That was disgusting.

Long live the swap meet! It will always be part of my spring as long I live here.

They basically moved them to the bank in between the on ramp for I-5 from Interstate Ave and where that large equipment auction yard used to be, there was a camp trailer that was somehow drug down there with a garbage pile in about a 40 yard radius the trailer. Plus along the slough on the under the street overp***, there was a m***ive camp along the bank, they even had 3-4 boats tied off all full of garbage.

I rode the MAX line out from Hillsboro on Friday and its the last time I will ever ride that. That was not a safe journey at all.

I took this around the track twice many years ago, it worked great until I bought something.

It's funny that PIR was full up with sellers. Do the Californians only do Expo? It seems to me that if it was weather or fear of the homeless, it would affect both swap meets equally. Yet PIR is alive and well still. Maybe even a little more so than past years. I noticed they had spaces this year where they hadn't ever had in past years.

I noticed some empty spots at both PIR and Expo. I'm sure the weather forecast didn't help, or the blizzard in the p***es down in Cali. But as always, it was a great time. Picked up a few odds and ends and dreamed about some high dollar stuff.

I hadn't been to the Portland Swap-meet in a few years, and decided to attend this year with my friend Rick Turner. He bought our friend, Pete McCleod's 3 axle race car trailer, that we usually congregated in at the PIR race track vendors area. March 28th was my 70th birthday, and I figured it would be a cool thing to be there with the other gear heads as well.

I had forgotten about the mud, the rain, the cold weather, the goose **** everywhere, the aroma of the blue lagoons, ( porta potty's), and life's rich pageant, of the faithful to make the pilgrimage to the race track, to me the very best part of the annual swap-meet.

My 70 year old out of shape body and legs, made one trip around the race track on my mountain bike to see the piles of interesting stuff, and I was done. So I hung out at the trailer, doing my best to stay warm.

I never made it up to the EXPO, and that was just fine with me. I did shoot some pictures of a few things that caught my eye in our general area.
    Thanks from Dennis.
