Wife says I created a monster. Willys Jeep build

Discussion in 'The Antiquated' started by anthony myrick, Apr 22, 2021.

  1. We had this jeep tail gate filler/eliminator that came with the first jeep he bought. It’s 16 gauge. We chopped it up into a center floor riser/crossmember.

Very neat beads. I bought an al-cheapo bead roller to make some ally door trims. Hope they turn out as well.

    Cheers,

  5. If you brace up these cheap rollers that do a good job.
We also made a fence out 1 inch angle to get these straight

  7. If you can fold and unfold a box, you can do sheet metal work.
    The hat channel is tricky.
Cut some 1 inch wide s**** strips the width we needed. Took a couple tries to figure out the sequence. It’s easier if we had a press brake. We used a regular finger brake. Most straight brakes are too wide on the clamp side to do a narrow channel.
These are 9/16 tall. The minimum for the brake we used after removing the angle brace from the brake.
This weakens or reduces the brakes capacity.
I plan on modifying the brake so we can lower the angle brace to accommodate the room needed for a reverse bend.
For this bend, the outside fold was first, flip and do the inside.
Rotate and flip, do the second outside bend. Flip and do the last center bend.
    Instant hat channel.
