I was wondering whatever happened to this car? The last that I do know is that George Poteet owned it and it went on the auction block at Barrett/Jackson and went for like 164,000.00. Anyone know more about it whereabouts? One of the nicest customs that Trepanier has done and is right up there in my books with Cole's latest and the Cadzzilla that Mr. Gibbons owns. KNUX!
No disputing Cadzilla being awesome, but pretty sure Billy Gibbons does not own it. It was in Japan for awhile, but last I knew was back stateside. It even made an appearence at the '05 Roundup.
The new owner and the car were featured in an episode of the show Rides on TLC. Also one of my favorite modern customs. Brick
I saw the Sniper at Moroso Drag park years back.....not my kind of car....but the workmanship was incredible!
When I saw Cadzilla at the Peterson last March, it said that it was owned by Billy Gibbons at that time. Sure was fabulous. Doug
Yes Billy does own it. I have bumped into him and his wife a couple of times here in L.A. and talked cars and he gave me the lowdown of all of his personnal rides. You can see them all in his book..."rock&roll gearhead". I even gave him a couple of pics of it when it was on it's 1st outing like over 15 years ago it was at the L.A. Roadsters-Fathers Day show. That gave him a big smile when I gave them to him. KNUX!
The last I heard (from the boys at Rad Rides) is it now resides in Kalifornia. The dude takes it to cars show from time to time. But other than that it seems to have fallen off the planet. It's my favorite all time kustom (yep, I said KUSTOM). Reverend Jake
He is hands on when they are being built. From paper to finish. He has a great eye. I heard that some of his rides he has seen and bought. Why, because he can!!!!!!! Prime example......Cadzzilla!
I saw it driven on the Cruise the 101 cruise on sep 10. The Sniper won a prize for being the best custom, the owner is enjoying the car for what it is a car to be driven. The prize he won was an insult, a little stand with a ribbon hanging off it saying "winner". The pleasure of driving the car must be tons greater than any trophies.
i just saw this car about 2 weeks ago at a little foster freeze car show.i liked it and i didnt like it.it was cool to the old cat having fun driving it. j
I saw a station wagon from a distance from the barber shop today that had that same front. It looked like it was was sectioned and chopped.
I want to use the same front grill pieces on my '53 wagon that are on the '54. Much nicer looking. I want the stainless trim to wrap all the way around the fenders to meet the grill trim. Like the way it is on the Sniper! Just looks clean and was meant to be. KNUX!
****. That Plymouth is so nice it makes me want to take mine out back and shoot it. That is some workmanship at its best. Long hours and plenty of dollars invested in that gem. Someday.....Someday......
Yes. I knew that . That blew my mind when I 1st found that out. They had some master metal guy do the whole top. I don't know why they just didn't leave it a convertable? All in all, it came out just right. KNUX!
I would like to see it with some 15 inch Chrome reverse smoothies and some big fat wide white bias plys just for the hell of it! I heard Troy boy lurks here from time to time!?
There is a yellow and green '54 4dr sedan for sale around the corner from here. I can get you some pics if you're really looking for a nice one. I think it says $500 on it and the front end is clean. Danny Like this..
