Hey guys! He’s been busy working on hot rods I’ll give him a holler and tell him to come update you all. In short order fall hit and he took the car nearly 100% apart to finish it all the way and fix some things he didn’t like after a shake down couple of thousand miles. he’s also building a cool A with a friend, messing with some Motorcycles and stashing parts for a 3 window build. Kids been busy!
Yeah he knocked it out drove it to Oklahoma with @J.Ukrop and back and tore up plenty of dirt roads before it hit rebuild season. The A they are working on to bring to the roc this year looks to be a snotty one. Really enjoy following along with what he’s up to.
@Tim thanks for the update, missed this one, a cool car & a kid with heaps of energy! I'd love to see the other projects.

That was already a well written & captivating story, now I realize that you are that @Tim & this is the Colton & his 32 5 window it brings both this story & @J.Ukrop's into the light!
I’m not the Tim he road down with but I was with Joey that weekend watching him do his thing, and one of those photos in the thread is me. what a great adventure hot rods can be.
After Tim reaching out to me I realized it had been quite a long while since I’ve been on here, never really posted what the car look liked finished, etc. So I’ll try my best to do a long story short! I’ve been extremely busy as I seam to have zero problems finding new projects I don’t need!! Immediately after I got back from Oklahoma in October with the 32, I forced my best friend Jack to who just graduated high school, to buy this model a body and build a car. Since then almost every night we’ve invested it into building what we think is a not so typical model a sedan, not a stretched out rat rod, or a 90s street rod but in-fact a traditional, but a absolutely violent looking model a that can blast down the highway at 85 all day long. Which is exactly what we do! Haha. A lot happens in a short amount of time with me seams like lately, including right after gathering at the roc, I was finally able to purchase this 32 3 window I’ve been after for a long time from a close friend. He was after it for years then ultimately ended up buying it with the intentions I would buy it from him. Something I don’t take for granted. Next on the agenda for me was getting into upholstery, I have never touched a sewing machine in my life so I did what everyone would do, quit all your jobs, spend all your money and start a upholstery business with not a lick of experience! That’s a joke but essentially what happened. Since then I’ve loved it and I’m getting to the point where I’m messing less stuff up. I posted a couple seats here, the brown unfinished one is for the 5 window, as well as the brown door panel, and the blue seat is for a 32 roadster for a friend in Canada. I’m quite proud of that blue seat as it’s the first seat I’ve really ever finished, but what it doesn’t show is the scrap seat bottom I have sitting in the corner! Plus all the other seats I experimented with Haha. I am very fortunate to have a few friends in this business and they have been very kind to help me with this whole learning process. Last and not least I’ve been distracted with motorcycles lately, here’s a rusty ironhead I’m doing. Long winded post but I don’t get on here much, thanks to you who read it! Also as Tim stated above the 5 window I tore down after a couple months of driving, I can’t even begin to explain how much I learned from that car, and I don’t ever want to tear it apart again, the car drove great, but I always knew I was gonna be rough on this car. And This time around I’m making it so it will always take it
The 5 win is a grouse thing, & that 3 window looks like a great start, so cool. You have done well with the Upholstery, I would be very proud of that blue seat too! Please keep dropping in here, we would love to keep up with what's going on for you. Is your mate with the Tudor on here? If not he should get on & do a build thread.

Not sure what the deal is kickin the iron head Sportsters to life can be a learning experience . Buddy rode one for years , only bike that has ever kicked me back hard . The 74s will hop to life 10x easier than the little brother . Just use caution until you get the rhythm all figured out .
Just finished scrolling through the coverage of "Gathering at the Roc" traditional hot rod event in Bartlesville, Oklahoma last year in October from Tim's link that he provided... Man, did that show have some AWESOME traditional hot rods, or what! Colton, your '32 making that trip to the Gathering at the Roc must have been really special - can this be your first build of your ownership to bring to a major hot rod run? Now you can change your avatar of your '32 to her current state of a turnkey bitch'n hot rod and the pride that goes with it!
You are definitely right, sportsters are notorious for their awful kick backs, I’m not to that point with this one yet, but I have tried to kick it a few times. The kicker bushing/ gear is wore out and it slammed to the ground enough times for me to call it quits and look for a new set. That alone was a sudden pain that lasted a day
Yes technically this is my first hot rod that I’ve gotten done and driven. I’ve had a old roadster body since I was 7 years old that will be my next build. I’m gonna leave this new 3 window in the corner for a little while and slowly gather parts for it, where this roadster I pretty much already did a lot of the shopping for throughout the years. As far as road trips I’ve had my fair share, once I turned 16 I pretty much made dads 32 roadster mine and drove it everywhere, since I was in such a hurry for the roc I ended up stealing everything drivetrain wise out of dads car and putting it in mine since my motor was still at the machine shop. I finally just got to work on the 5 window this week and all of that will be going back in dads car, or possibly my 3 window body on dads roadster chassis for this years gathering. We will see. I have lots of ideas, but never any time to do them hahaha
