Here is a late 1940s real photo postcard of "The Diamonds Restuarant" and later the "Tri-County Truck Stop" on old Route 66. The Diamonds, once the "World's Largest Roadside Restaurant" on US 66 at Villa Ridge MO. The Diamonds opened on this site at MO 100 and US 66 in 1926. The original building burned in 1948 and was replaced by this structure. The Diamonds later moved to the Interstate and this building became the Tri-County Truck Stop. This building is still standing but is vacant and quickly deteriorating.
