I grew up in Reading, M***achusetts and it was a great town for hot rods and drag race cars. Some of my earliest hero’s were Sy Sidebotham, Harvey Richardson, and Dave Creehan, all from Reading also.
Back in 1969, Fuel Dragsters were a rather common attraction when Firebird Raceway in the foothills above Idaho's capital city of Boise first opened one year earlier in July of 1968. This long standing thread is so rich in history, it's just cool to drop a few early images from time to time.
I said it before... I'll say it again... I was born 30 year's too friggin' late!!! I missed ALL the cool ****!!!
Underdriven blower no port nozzles no pump, Probably about the time the game changed. No more used engines and no money. But a hell of a lot of fun! Lippy

Stolen from above - Somewhat modern (1990's, early 2000's anyway) day "zoomies" in a 1950(ish) car ! Some one musta had a time machine TV, or camera that only takes pictures of the future . Mike
