Hello, Those kids got a cool thing going with the pedal cars. My brother and I did not have access to pedal cars. As we got through our elementary school early years, the bumper cars at the Pike Amu*****t center had some great rides and bumps. But we always rode the small carousel auto rides built for us, little guys/girls. Patience for the real thing, being able to steer in reality. Then by 1956, we were able to go drive the real Disneyland Autopia Cars on a wide early version of a road course. Free steering and acceleration in those early original cars. The later years they had a rail installed to keep the road warriors from going off of the open road into the bushes. But, talk about an out in the country open road drive with some acceleration and braking… “good things come to those that wait…!” Or are/were we the “early birds that got the tasty worm…” so to speak! Results of the 1963 timeline... @themoose version thanks... So, all good things led to a future with hot rods/drag racing, and cool cruisers… And, don’t forget, the most reliable, low powered, Flathead surf transportation… A hot rod of sorts for those wonderful memories of teenage adventures before everything got serious… ha!
