Update #2 is always a good thing. It means progress and we all love that right. The grill mouth opening is done, new wires are being pulled in, and the rest of the body is being prepped for paint. Also, here is the newly painted dash...and color of car. Satin Finish, Copper Pearl.
Wow, is that a real convertible? The grille opening looks really good, what grille do you plan to use in it? I like the rounded hood corners too. Is the grille opening and fenders welded to the gravel pan, or will they come apart?
Norm. It is looking great!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm next in line mememememememememememe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! j/k......let me know when. Got to get that chop finished that ya started. KNUX!
Norm-Looks great! Love the color! I thought you said paint by last weekend. Are you going to make it tomorrow night now? Did you do any mods to the dash like you were talking about?
It was decided upon to keep the dash stock and use color to accent it on the stainless mouldings around the switches. It will also be 2 toned with white on top and cleared throughout. As for the weekend, since the show is not until the 30th, I put more time into the front end. The front end is moulded together to the splash pan. As for the grill, it has "teeth" bumber guards. Ill post a pict of them after paint. It has a real close Desoto teeth look. Tomorrow...Im hoping. Got a meeting in the afternoon for work towards L.A. But we will see.
its looking REAL nice. i cant wait to see what the paint is going to look like on the body. that pearl really makes the paint. once again thanks norm.
I look forward to seeing the grille. My '53 has DeSoto teeth in it, but they're poorly mounted and I'd like to see a good example of a clean installation in a 52-54 Ford. Also would like to hear what you're going to do for parking lights/turn signals
it is not a real convertible it is a victoria that someone cut the top off of. the teeth are vw bumper guards. for now it wont have any turn or marker lights in the front. i have to find some that i really like to put in there.
