Just a quick update on the 41:
Front axle is back in, master cylinder and brake lines all done and bled. Have a great pedal and I even pushed it across the shop and jumped in and locked the tires up. That's a huge deal. We now have disc on all 4 corners. I did have to cut a small hole in the floor to get the master lid off but it doesn't hurt anything, I'll make a cover. I am happy with the ride height, did the speedway crossmember and longer shackles up front, and the tci rear spring kit really dropped it a bunch.
So I am down to the wiring harness, shifter, and get a driveline made and I'm pretty much there. Well, to be able to drive it at least. I need to modify my shock kit o got, seems like nothing really fits a 41 in all these kits I've purchased. All part of hot rodding I'm learning. The engine is out right now so she sits nose high, but should be level when I put it back in. 20230423_163102.jpg Still need to do new window rubbers and ***ociated parts, make door panels, redo the back seat. I got some like new buckets out of a Honda for the front for $100 so if I don't like them it will be an easy deal to sell them and get different ones. I also need to do cooler lines for the th350. Dynamat, carpet , all the pretty stuff. But- running, driving, and stopping were my goal by this summer, and I'm gonna hit the mark. A really good feeling. 20230423_163102.jpg 20230326_172224.jpg 20230312_171626.jpg 20230304_180735.jpg 20230117_180314.jpg 20230423_161643.jpg

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the upper shock goes between the bracket eyes.

I think he said he needed to modify his shock kit. Looks like to me he needs to switch sides with them maybe.

(just guessing) it’s for a 35-40 ch***is and instructions for measurements are probably off for a ‘41?
Seems easy enough to move the upper mounts though and get them in line with the shock.
Was said about side to side swap, but via the pic I don’t see what that would gain. But I do miss many details on pics.

It looks like those are Dodge Aspen rotors, did they move the wheels out very much?

Are those mounts left and right? Do you have them switched side to side?

  13. I might be missing a key point...but how about moving the shock mounts to where you need them to be (to have the end of the shock in between the brackets as intended) and then either drill holes or weld them in place?

So you all can see that switching mounts doesn't work. No big deal I will hang them on the shock and slap up to frame and weld them on. I'm not to worried about it, my post was more geared towards the progress I have made. All part of building a car, but the 41 seems like it's a bit tougher since no "kit" really works. But I'm not complaining here, it's been fun!
