  17. I knew this detail but am too lazy to count so I’ll take your word for it. :)

  18. ..So, the question that begs to be answered, why did they change the number of louvers?...;)

No idea of time or reason but guessing maybe jan 40--seen quite a few earlier too-Nov Dec 39-other stuff different too. Have a coupe thats early with all the early features best I can tell is about Nov,Dec 39

  20. This has come up before with no definitive answers. Ford changed things a lot. Two different ashtray designs as well in 1940. It’s across all models. Why were there 3 different grilles for 32’s? In a 9 month production run???

I drove my 40 to coffee tonight to meet with some old friends. This car has been sitting for about 3 years and I just recently got it going again. It's still got a few squawks to work out but it sure is a fun old car to drive. Smooth and quiet except for that flatty music coming out of the pipes!

As X38 said, quite a few differences between early and late 40's Have had maybe 15 pass thru here--several early ones too. As to time frame best I can tell is near end of 39-maybe Jan 40 Ashtrays, grille louvers, coupe decklids and a few other things I noticed. Also some differences plant to plant
