Hot Rods Ashtray identification help

I am trying to ID this ashtray so I can p*** it onto someone who can use it. It was in the trunk of a parts car with other parts and I can’t figure out what it is for.

Do any of you know what it belongs to?

 

Boy that looks familiar, but can't place it.

 

I'm the same as BJR, it looks real familiar but I can't remember what.

No guess on the make, but I'd say that has an early '60s look about it.

 

Can you slide the front part off and look for a part number?

Now I know why it looks familiar. We restored a 56 Safari at work and I polished all the dash chrome. Boy my memory ****s.

 

Too many chrome fumes!
