Short wheel base + bed custom two tone paint + flames, lowered rake, scalloped outlines and a mild chopped top.

    Hello,

In So Cal trucks are a part of the working class transportation. Some are just the plain colors from the factory with black wall tires and color matching rims. But, others use custom touches to create something different for their daily drivers and also, weekend road trip transportation. Since there are a lot of trucks of all makes and models, this one would definitely stand out as different. It is an odd year styling of Ford trucks.

But, the original 1961 Ford truck had a taller cab that looked out of place. It needed a slight lowering to keep with the proportions. Yes, those Detroit factory designers get the big bucks to design new cars and trucks, but a lot of times, the proportions are just not right. How much of a chop? Minimal, but at least it is not a tall cab sticking out of the lower portion of the hood and bed lines.

The accessible gas cap is like a sore thumb. It sticks out so it ruins the smooth lines. So, it was relocated inside of the truck bed with a hinged door matching the side walls. Out of the way and functional. To keep the smooth lines of the two tone paint panel, the door handle is also converted to a touch button inside the truck bed, too. Just reach over the top rail and touch the button for easy access door opening. The key insert makes the button not active.

    Happy " FAS" to everybody.
I saw this, version of the "SWC" Gasser, that was hand painted on a ceramic plate, on a table for sale at the Portland Swap meet a few years ago.
    Thanks from Dennis.

That's a pretty cool piece of art. When I zoomed in on it, there is a lot of interesting style and shapes and lighting.
Just curious, was it inspired by a photograph? Or did you just go for it and it's purely free form?
Either way, I think it's a great piece of art!
    Thanks from Dennis.
