HAMB Relay? Manitoba Canada to ND, MN, MI & then on south

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Harrison, Sep 20, 2006.

  1. I found a Deuce Fordor body (body only) in Baldur, Manitoba Canada. Baldur is supposedly 50 miles north of the ND border. I can't afford commercial shipping to TN though.

I know this is a long shot but you never know.....

I'd like to try to relay it all the way home but I'm also looking into shipping from Baldur to ND, MN, or MI - just to get the relay started... & because there seems to be a few HAMBers who travel south from time to time.

I don't have to have it home right now but would want it in the hands of a HAMBer I could trust until we could relay it south. The longer it takes, the more time I have to save $$ to pay for gas to get it here anyway.

If I could get it to within 8 hours of Knoxville I could then go get it myself. My job & young kids won't allow much more than a long day away from home though.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks, Jim

I am in Traverse City MI - and have a place for storage.

I get to Southern MI often even into IN if it helps

  3. It does help & I appreciate the offer.

We have a spot in MI. That's a start.

Lot more blanks to fill in still.

    Thanks, Jim

NO F@*KING WAY! Did you buy it from Rick?? It can't be anyone else. The towns so small there isn't even a streetlight.:D He's a dear, dear old friend....actually an old boyfriend. No matter how long it has to stay in Baldur you won't get screwed. Tell Rick that you insist he brings to to Michigan himself.:D

Jimmy and i will be in Detroit for the Auto Rama this spring, we could pick it up from Denise

  13. There are a few HAMBers on canadianrodder.com (Cword, digger_dave). You might want to intro over there and see if anyone can help get the car moved out of Manitoba (I've got a lot of family there, but they're all on the wrong side of the dirt).

I haven't been on canadianrodder in a long time, but they all know Denise (like, who doesn't?! :D ) and they are good guys.

  14. You got it Denise.

I haven't bought it but would damn sure try if I could find a way to get it home.

As you can see, I have a lot of help from the states on south. I can't seem to get it relay'd out of Canada though.

Care to help by giving him a better reason to come to MI? ;)

I agree with Denise... if the car is from Rick, your investment is safe. He's a straight shooter. Getting it across the border with the owner (you) absent, is going to be the trick.

That looks like the one he was going to build for his daughter Jessie. She must have changed her mind. He does have about 500 more cars in his "Field of Dreams" for her to chose from.:D

Take a road trip with the whole family and go pick it up:eek: ;)
