there is never a good reason to pass up a rat motor. Those big valve covers are a blank canvas for you to style in any way you like. Just be sure to take the 502 badge off. It isn't nice to brag.
My kid has a 383 stroker with a roller cam and fuel injection in his slammed sled '51 coupe, the thing is brutal for a custom. I think customs need horsepower.........the most you can afford.

I would do it, but then again I have always had "sleeper" type of cars. It's funny to see the look on peoples faces when you give it a little gas. You can always give that big block a "vintage" look too. Here is my 51, looks pretty stock........ SURPRISE! A 454 and a 4-speed!
While I'm not schooled in customs or kustoms or whatever you call it, there is no way that a 502 could be wrong in my eyes. Unless it's in a Ford. Sweet ride colorado51. J
