I want to relocate my brake& clutch pedals to the firewall.
Which pedal ***embly works best being narrow space? compact master cylinder?
My plan is to use an S10 rear axle and S10 front spindle rotor etc disc brakes. Maybe T5 trans.
    Who has done it?
    Thanks

  3. Henry J used FORD front ends. The hot tricck for disks in the 70s was to use AMC stubs bolted to teh HJ upright after to cut/machined off the snout, AMC drums and disks will bolt on

I was thinking that a machine shop could make a sleeve that fits the Henry J spindle for the S10. Also should be able to make a caliber bracket that would bolt on.?…..just guessing -unsure

Down here it would be an OT 1974-1976 Holden. Moredoor sedan, 2-door sedan, ute, wagon, panelvan or trayback ute.

    Cheers,

I built my own pedal ***embly and used a master from a mid 70s Ford intermediate car. (15/16" bore) I fabricated my firewall and made a channel stiffener from the top of my firewall down to the toeboard from the sidewall of a 2 X 5 14 ga rectangle tube.

Just Google “hanging pedal ***embly”. Several come up, including dual brake booster with balance bar for race cars (mostly). Made for hydraulic clutch linkage usually. But you’ll get a lot of ideas, and then make your own decision about building or buying.

don’t forget the stiffener blue49 mentioned. I’ve seen more than 1 firewall flex by overlooking that. Even had one crack once.

I used a pedal like this one.https://www.ebay.com/itm/272290070360 I welded a plate to the back side of the firewall larger than the pedal bolt pattern to strengthen the firewall. No problem with it flexing.

Mine is made to conform to the toeboard at full stroke, plus I like to make stuff.

You might consider one of the cable operated clutch set ups like they used in 90s Mustangs or Jeeps. Fairly compact and easy to set up. This is not my car pictured below. clutch cable system.jpeg

This is a 90s Mustang but they may vary some by year. You can get new cables cheaply on Amazin........

Which year S-10 spindles? I have a set a '98 2WD spindles/rotors/discs loose to measure if needed. FYI, '98+ 2WD S-10 Blazer/Jimmy front disc brakes are dual piston, and a nice upgrade, but the 2wd Blazer/Jimmy spindles, hubs, rotors, etc. are totally different than the 2WD S-10 pickups and the 4WD pickups/Blazers.

AMC front spindles are different between drum and disc, too, so make sure you get the correct ones if you go that route.
