Been kicking it around for a month of Sundays with several guys who also own Special Coupes and finally got around to starting the group: (NEW LINK) https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/social-forums/1928-29-model-a-special-coupe-club.203/ (Old Link) LINK http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=236
Thanks, Jeremy! Anyone working on one of these car be sure to stop by. I've posted links for hard to find parts and tons of pix of Special Coupe roof details.
So far we're up to 19 members strong. You just don't see many of these cars, not even counting the ones that have been made into coupsters. Looking through the archives, there were only about 45 guys on the HAMB with 28/29 Special Coupes. We're doing a pretty decent job of pulling them all together.
For all you guys trying to figure out what to do for the hard to beltline molding, I just added links on the club page for repro molding and universal br*** trim you can use to make one up yourself for around $50.
Also known as a Leatherback. Not to be confused with the Sport Coupe. There was also a sedan Leatherback. Most of the Leatherback model As got a little rusty and rotten under the leather.
