I’m not in the market at all for a small block 427, etc. but a buddy sent me a link earlier today about a “Dart 5.2 427” engine. Googling yielded no results, Darts site had nothing I could find. What the heck is the “5.2” referencing? I’m thinking a version of the block?

That was the link my friend send me. I was trying to figure out what the “5.2” references, nothing there that I could find.
This might be it? STAGE 5.2? https://www.skipwhiteperformance.co...r-heads-crate-motor-628-hp-base-engine_94771/
Yes, that’s the engine I’m asking about. But what I’m asking is what does the “5.2” refer to. As I mentioned I’m just curious, no thoughts of having/needing one.
It's just Skip White's designation for this particular build combination. He has several levels of performance engines, changing cams, compression ratio's, heads, or strength of rotating ***embly parts. The "5.2" is not any number ***ociated or ***igned by Dart, and doesn't refer to any dimension on the block. The link you were sent just happens to be "Version 5.2" For example.... Here's a Dart block destroker, 377 cubes, "Version 2.3" CHEVY TURN KEY SBC 377 STAGE 2.3 DART BLOCK, CRATE MOTOR 530 hp | Skip White Performance - We have the best prices you will ever find for aluminum heads, rotating ***emblies and strokers 434", now "Version 5.5" CHEVY TURN KEY 434 STAGE 5.5 DART BLOCK AFR HEADS CRATE MOTOR 632hp-SERPENTINE K1 | Skip White Performance - We have the best prices you will ever find for aluminum heads, rotating ***emblies and strokers
We’ve been running a Dart sportsman block in our circle track car for years. Started as a 377” and now a 422”. I would not build a racing engine without one of the aftermarket blocks and maybe not a street engine either. The bore can be 4.185” and a 4” crank (you figure it out) will fit eventho we use a 3-7/8”. The best this is EVERYTHING is off the shelf. **** and CP/Carillo have everything covered. Today any style cylinder head you can think of is offered and so are sportsman shaft rocker arms…..
