I am getting ready to start fooling with an original 49 cosmo. The previous owner left in in a field and the interior is roached. he also has 2, 49 Mercs that are in various States of restoration? He does have a complete 49 interior for the 49 Merc that I can get cheap. from what I read the 49 cosmo and 49 merc are very similar from the cowl back. Will this interior fit in the cosmo? I am planning on getting the flat head to run but still need more time. Thanks

Does your car look like '49 Marc from the cowl back? If it does, you don't have a Cosmo and it should work.

cosmopolitan does not have same interior as merc. "baby" lincoln has same body from the cowl back. cosmo has bigger body than merc or babylincoln.

Wizkid has it right. If you have a baby Lincoln that shares the same body as the Merc from the firewall back, the Mercury interior will go right in. But if it really is a Cosmo, nothing is going to fit. Are you sure your car is a Cosmopolitan? It's an easy mistake to make. The baby Lincoln didn't really have a model name, so they often get mis-labeled as Cosmopolitan.

  5. I once owned a baby Lincoln,it was labeled as an EL Coupe. I had the original front seat but no back seat until I got the rear seat from a Merc for free from a friend. If yours is a baby Lincoln then it’ll just drop right in place, if not you’ll need to get it custom made.

that is a Cosmopolitan. there is almost nothing that will fit from a Mercury, certainly not the interior

Yup, definitely a Cosmo and no Merc bits are going to fit. Luckily you still have the seat frames though, and the door panels (at least in the rear) look plenty intact to work with. Won't be as easy as a bolt in swap, but what you have looks very fixable.

Yeah, Cosmopolitan. They made a fast back version of that car too. Looking for a trunk lid for one of those.
