History Unknown Sprint Car

    There is no paperwork with it other than a tiny tag attached to the steering column. (photo attached)
    It seems well built, with what seems to be a Weiand aluminium head, Cragar valve cover, huge water pump and a modified inlet manifold. It was sold to me as being from 1948, but when looking at the overall appearance and components I would estimate it to be built in the late 30's...
    I am thankfull for any hint that brings up a bit of it's history!

  2. Great looking old sprinter!
    Wondering if the “Heligas” is a misspelling of Hillegas - Hiram Hillegas was a well known sprint car manufacturer back in the early days.
    I remember seeing several Hillegas cars at the Knoxville IA Sprint Car hall of fame

    Great old sprint car!
    Those guys had balls big enough to carry around in a little red wagon!
