I've had great success with the basic exhaust spray paints. Follow the instructions. Don't just spray em and install, that won't last
I had the headers on my old coupe Ceracoated. The same coating they use on guns. They looked good after 3 years
and you spelled it correctly. I remembered the curing process was not quick and took a guess at the name. Thanks for setting that straight
I haven't had the chance to use it yet, but I've been doing research and it sounds like the high temperature cerakote waaaaay out performs any other DIY "high temperature" coatings. I'm seriously considering it for my exhaust as well as other components.
Ceramic coat on 4 of my current cars headers. Coated inside and out. Look nice, easy clean up. They claim cooler running temps, all I know is they look cooler.
My Y-block cast iron exhaust manifolds are coated with the brush on product from Eastwood and they have looked good for 11 years. My sons original Nicson’s have had the same.
I've used both Eastwood and Por 15 with good results. Where I screwed up was not going back over the manifolds with something to clean them better after media blasting them.
I used POR15 spray paint on mine. Baked in the oven at 400F per the instructions. After 6 years, still holding up fairly well. I cleaned them up with a grinder and media blasted them first.
get one you have to bake on, then wait for a day you have the house to yourself. You will still get caught, but it won't be as bad as it was.
Dang Phil, get with it. We’re getting into the 2020’s pretty much now. Don’t tell me you do NOT have an oven out in the shop
cheap way is hi temp BBQ paint available anywhere. It lasts quite a while, not permanent. Did I say cheap?
