Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

I've looked at this photo several times ...



... and wondered what that recessed area is where the arrow I added is pointed at. I can't tell if the scoop is real or painted on.

The chrome trim looks like it goes in the scoop opening a little bit.

 

Last I heard it was about ready to paint. I miss the white and red/orange version. E

 

Oh man, hate to see that, but glad to see it repaired. Super cool truck (even if I do prefer the white). Look forward to seeing the third iteration

 

He has driven many, many times to Salina Kansas for the Leadsleds and also a bunch to Indy for the Custom Car Revival from California in the different Customs he has owned and still owns.

 

Yes, the scoop is real, but it isn't open all the way through, it's blocked off in the back. Pretty much a direct copy of the scoop on Larry Watson's Chevy. Although, yes, the Buick trim goes into the scoop a bit rather than below it like Larry's. It's been raised to clear the front fender lip (Larry's didn't have a lip) as well as to make the front of the trim level....Larry's wasn't and tipped back.

 

So what about that small recess in front of the fender near the top of the scoop? Was something supposed to go there?

 

No, that's just a created body line...same line as on Larry's.

The roof rack and the spotlights kinda interrupt the dazzling flow of it.
